The Fusion Energy Solutions Taskforce: catalyzing breakthrough solutions to accelerate commercial fusion

Pitch Competition to Accelerate Commercial Fusion Energy

The initiative will address three of the five overarching goals critical to the advancement of fusion energy, which were announced by the United States at COP28, each presenting unique challenges that demand global, collaborative solutions. These are: 

  • Enhancing the global marketplace for fusion energy

  • Building a diverse and global workforce

  • Improving public education & engagement in fusion energy

Participants are encouraged to propose innovative approaches that foster global collaboration, ensuring fusion energy becomes a cornerstone of the world’s clean energy future and boost economic development.

For teams consisting of individuals between the ages of 15 and 24 years old, a special Youth category is reserved for submissions. A representative from the Youth category winning team will be invited to a special event at the UN Summit of the Future in New York City.

Possibility of attendance at the United Nations Summit of the Future and the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference: One representative from each winning team will be invited, with all expenses covered, to attend UN Summit of the Future (youth category) and the 2024 UN Climate Change Conferenc (all others). These representatives will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a global audience.
